I feel really sorry for this. In fact, from my youngest age, I have always felt instinctively uncomfortable about how a spiritual path like yoga had just been turned into some intestinal transit troubleshooting guide for third age people... But of course, my unfortunately fellow white leftists were deaf to everybody out of their tiny conceptions. I just never could explain my malaise to anybody, because you know, you have to be open to the world, Europe has no culture and needs a continuous importation of enlightenment, blabla... When you are shocked by disrespectful appropriation until very recently, I felt people were only classed by their peers as white ignominious racists and the shame was on them forever.
I am very, very pleased to see that my discomfort is actually shared by lots of Hindus. How ironic.
On the other hand, aside from cultural thefts by christian woke hinduphobic leftists, I understand the deep need and the sincere fascination about Yoga for a lot of Europeans. Christian destruction of European ancestral culture and christian hate of the flesh forbid body disciplines for a very long time. Olympic games were even forbidden during exactly 1500 years by the christian authorities before being restored in 1894 by Pierre de Coubertin.
Before christianity we had all sorts of body disciplines, and it was purely destroyed. Palestras were turned into ugly churches and even hygiene was seen as a sin. Public baths were closed and so on.
This is why, for sure, dechristianizing Europeans need stretching exercises. But they should focus on reconstructring their culture on their own, as with the Natural Method of Georges Hébert, and not loot Hinduism. And certainly not calling this "christian yoga" (what a shame for such cultural destroyers) or saying wokish outraged garbage like the disgusting leftist disrespect of Yoga you pointed out in your article.
